Mixxx is an open source Dj software that enables you to perform live mixes. Supported by the all the big OS out there - Windows, OSX, Linux it makes it a really cool addition for starting DJs to experienced ones. Here is a list of some of the MIXXX features that impressed us: Parallel waveform displays, Pitch-independent time stretch, Vinyl emulation, BPM detection, Multichannel soundcard support (playback and capture), Multi-core CPU support. The software reads mp3, ogg, wave and flac. This years Dis-patch Festival will be held in Belgrade 18-22 of October in several simultaneous locations. Monolake (aka Monolake) will do interactive installation - Cyclone, and he will have two more performances. For the interested in the making of electronic music there will be plenty - presentaions, lectures and discussions.

Radiohead's new album - In Rainbows - is out and is available for download. After completing their contract with EMI they didn't sign to any label, so the songs will be for sale, but you can pay as much as you decide (really!). The record is available as download and also on CD and vinyl.

Update (11/12/2007): and it turns out that this approach is very succesful (moneywise), and there are more big names considering this approach (Nine Inch Nails for example).
